One Day in September i received a notice in the mail that if i did not pay my fine, my license would be revoked. Not having any idea what i recieved a fine for, i called the seminole court traffic division and was told i ran a toll on September 4, 2007, did not respond to my ticket (which i never received since i had moved) and would have to pay 186.50 in fines. I told them that was crazy, i called e-pass(which i have had for over 4 years secured with a credit card) and they said there was nothing that they could do, i should pay the fine. I called the court back and was told to write a letter to the judge. At this time, i had 2 weeks or my license would be revoked. After 10 days and 8 phone calls, i received a letter saying i needed to call the epass to release my d6 (whatever that is) and they would send a court date soon. After 2 hours on the phone, i finally was told i needed to call sunpass, not epass. After seeing all the attention others are getting about this mess, I received a court date of June 18th. I have never ran a toll nor has my credit card not worked during replenishing. The lady at sunpass said i should either change my battery more often or if i dont hear a beep when i go through the lane, i should call and report it. Sorry, but at an average of 2 hours per call, i think i would lose my job. Never had a ticket or a problem until this. Until my court date, I guess I will have to wait to finish the story

I have recently had a horrible experience with both Sun Pass and E-Pass. Yesterday, I was pulled over. The officer told me my license was suspended and handed me a ticket for driving under a suspended license. I asked him why it was suspended and he said I had some toll violations from Oseola County from October of 2007. I had to do more research and come to find out I had two Sun Pass toll violations but had never been notified of any violations. I have held an account with E-pass for the past four years and have never had any problems. While on the phone with Sun Pass and E-pass both, I was treated very rudely and was on hold forever. After further investigation, I found out that my transponder failed to work on two occasions even though my account was current and had plenty of money in it. So, two $.75 tolls are going to cost me over $400 in fees ($185 per violation and $50 to get my license reinstated). I was out of state from the end of October to the end of January and my mail was being forwarded. A rep from Sun Pass told me… “we don’t forward citations!” So, how was I to know that I had any outstanding toll violations. This system is horrible and the both Sun pass and E-pass deserve a class action law suit against them for putting so many people out. I work in health care and need my license to go to work each day. I had to hire a lawyer today to attempt to resolve these issues. I now have to pay for the toll fees and the ticket for driving while under a suspended license. This isn’t right. When all is said and done… I’m looking to spend over $1300 for two $.75 tolls! There is something very wrong with this system and the penalties being placed on people’s records can cause serious problems. I want to take my experience to anyone who will hear me and hopefully get a class action lawsuit in place to repay everyelse who can been severly inconvienced by this system. It is a very helpless feeling to have this injustice placed on you. Please let me know if anyone else feels the same.

If you happen to file or know of someone that wishes to file a class action suit against this system, I’m in.
Since December 2007 I have been fighting the same thing…only difference is that my court date will be 8/11 and after all of the aggravation and missed work hours…I will now get to show them that I did indeed have 2 violations of which I paid and identified on one check…I have the cancelled check proving that they had no problem doing that, but did not record it on my file…the only time I got a chance to speak was to declare whether or not I was going to declare guilt and pay $365. after all the time had passed….I don’t even want to think of the hours spent trying to get a violations officer at the Sunpass offices only to receive a mailbox is full message….I hate this system and am now willing to go to the nth degree to see they suffer for all the time and money this has caused honest individuals.

After reading all that I’ve read this morning I can’t believe some lawyer hasn’t taken them on. If anyone hears of a class action happening I’d love to know. I’m afraid that one at a time no one will notice this system just does not work!
